On September 5, 2014 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative four coins of рrecious metals.

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coins and the year of issue «2014», between them there is an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

Coin «St. Isaac’s Cathedral (Auguste Montferrand)» of the series «Architectural Masterpieces of Russia»

The reverse side of the coin has a matt field on the left which bears images of a portrait of an architect Auguste Montferrand and a capital below performed in colour. To the right of them there is a relief image of St. Isaac’s cathedral in Saint Petersburg against the background of a panoramic view of the city. There is an inscription in two lines under the portrait — «ОГЮСТ МОНФЕРРАН» (AUGUSTE MONTFERRAND).

Coin «Chelyabinsk Region» series «The Russian Federation»

The obverse: in the upper part of the coin there is an inscription along the rim: «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), in the lower part the year of issue «2014». On the left and on the right sides of the outer ring of the coin there are stylized images of laurel and oak branches respectively. In the center of the disc there is an indication of the face value of the coin «10 РУБЛЕЙ» (10 ROUBLES) in two lines. Inside the figure «0» there is a protective element in the form of the figure «10» and an inscription «РУБ» (RUB) visible when changing angles of vision. In the lower part of the disc there is a trademark of a mint.

The reverse side of the coin has an image of the Chelyabinsk Region emblem placed on the disc. There are inscriptions on the ring along the circumference «РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ» (THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION) on top and «ЧЕЛЯБИНСКАЯ ОБЛАСТЬ» (CHELYABINSK REGION) at the bottom.

The edge of the coin is corrugated and has an inscription «ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TEN ROUBLES) recurring twice and divided by asterisks.

Coin «Tver» of the series «Towns of Martial Glory»

The obverse: in the upper part of the coin there is an inscription along the circumference: «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), in the lower part — the year of issue «2014». On the left and on the right there are stylized images of laurel and oak branches respectively. In the center of the disc there is an indication of the face value of the coin «10 РУБЛЕЙ» (10 ROUBLES) in two lines. Inside the figure «0» there is a protective element in the form of the figure «10» and an inscription «РУБ» (RUB) visible when changing angles of vision. In the lower part of the disc there is a trademark of a mint.

The Perth Mint has launched the ANZAC Spirit 100th Anniversary of the First World War coin series to commemorate and honor this important period in Australia’s history. The centenary serves as an opportunity to reflect on how Australia has developed as a country, from a dominion of the British Empire, to an independent, courageous nation, proud of its own distinct persona.

The series will run from 2014 to 2018 and include the annual issue of 1 oz silver and 1/4 oz gold coins as well as an annual 1/2 oz silver three coin set. Periodically, the Perth Mint will also announce special limited edition feature coins. The series will be supported with interesting historical mementos and memorabilia.

The first 1 oz silver proof coin represents the British declaration of war on August 4, 1914. The reverse design features a group of soldiers marching beneath a representation of Britannia holding her trident and wearing a Corinthian helmet, symbolic of British liberties and democracy. At center is a quote from Australian Prime Minister Joseph Cook, who declared “… When the Empire is at war, so is Australia at war.” The year “1914″ appears before the quote with a red poppy placed to the side.

Edge lettering is included around the coin’s rim which contains the words “PRIDE • RESPECT • GRATITUDE •”.

The 1/4 oz gold proof coin features a reverse design depicting a young boy watching soldiers marching along the Albany coastline, with a convoy of ships in King Georges Sound in the background. A red poppy is incorporated into the design. The words from a portion of a quote by Prime Minister Andrew Fisher appear above. During his election campaign, he said, “All, I am sure, will regret the critical position existing at the present time, and pray that a disastrous war may be averted. But should the worst happen after everything has been done that honour will permit, Australians will stand beside our own to help and defend her to our last man and our last shilling.”

The 1/2 oz silver three coin set features designs with for the themes “First Action”, “Answering the Call”, and “Farewell to Family.” The reverse design of the first coin features an Australian soldier running through vegetation while under fire during the fighting for Bita Paka wireless station near Rabaul in German New Guinea. The Australovenator is the first coin in this exciting new five-coin series that features Australian dinosaurs which existed during from the Cretaceous Period more than 100 million years ago.

The springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) is a medium-sized brown and white antelope-gazelle of southwestern Africa. It is extremely fast and can reach speeds of 100 km/h (62 mph) and can leap 4 m (13 feet) through the air. The common name "springbok" comes from the Afrikaans and Dutch words spring = jump and bok = male antelope or goat.

This is the world’s first 3 oz silver full dimensional minting coin. The coin has the highest relief ever minted (37mm) and it is the first time that a coin is packed in a patented dome capsule which lock the coin in a floating state. This springbok was especially created by an artist exclusive for this coin issue. On the horns each single wave is visible. Even details like the ears the eyes or also the muscles are engraved in this sculpture. From each side the Springbok looks amazing. Even the ground is very detailed, on the left side a small hill is visible with a Protea flower (national flower of South Africa) directly in front of the Springbok, also very detailed.

The coin comes in a modern dome capsule that secures the coin between the bottom and the dome. The Springbok and the ground are finished with .999 gold to reinforces the details. After the finishing process the parts are polished by hand.

The Austrian Mint has started accepting orders for the fourth coin in the series “Prehistoric Life: Back from the Dead.” The designs of the coin feature dramatic depictions of a the saber-toothed cat.

The coin represents life on the ground during the Tertiary period, which spans 66 million to 2.6 million years BC.

The obverse design features a detailed representation of the skull of the saber-toothed cat along with a depiction of the animal itself baring its famous saber-shaped canine teeth. A timeline is shown with the dates corresponding to the Tertiary period. The timeline is shown on all issues of the series showing the progression of the coins across the prehistoric periods. The obverse also includes the country of issue, REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH, the year of issue 2014 and the denomination. 

The reverse design carries an action scene showing the saber-toothed cat attacking a chalicotherium, an odd-looking herbivore with long-clawed forelimbs. The scene takes place in the swampy natural habitat common during the period when the climate cooled to the extent that the first glacier appeared at the South Pole about 30 million years ago.
