At the centre of your coin sits a scene from a rugged Yukon riverbank—meaningful to Barnard for time spent there under summer's midnight sun. From here, the image circles out in a panoply of Canadian illustrations; images from Canadian history and portraits of historical figures; scenes from First Nations culture, art, and mythology; Canadian flora and fauna; people bundled up against winter's chill; and much more. This mesmerizing design offers something new for you at each glance. Barnard has also cleverly hidden within the design the initials of each Canadian province and territory.

Sure to appeal to young collectors, and a must-have for all serious decimal enthusiasts, the Royal Australian Mint has unveiled its new Australian legal tender 2014 $1 Bright Bugs Series!
Arrayed with vivid designs, the first two coins of the series honour the Ulysses Butterfly and the Blow Fly. Whilst the Ulysses Butterfly would seem a natural choice for the series, the celebration of the much misunderstood ‘Blowy’ is an unexpected stroke of genius on the part of the Royal Australian Mint. It may be the scourge of the Aussie BBQ, but the Blow Fly’s metallic blue, green & black sheen makes this quintessentially Australian insect an absolutely perfect subject for a full-colour coin.
Not to be issued for circulation, and an essential acquisition for a complete $1 collection, each 25mm Al-Br Bright Bugs Unc $1 is set in an official card.

The Royal Mint proudly commemorates one of the most significant moments in world history with the official Outbreak 2014 UK £2 Silver Proof Piedfort Coin. John Bergdahl’s stirring design is magnificent on this double-thickness coin, enhanced by The Royal Mint’s unrivalled Proof quality. Whether you wish to honour those who took up arms, or have an interest in military or British history, you will want to secure one of these impressive coins.
As the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War approaches, The Royal Mint begins a five-year programme of commemoration with an official £2 coin that recalls the now famous ‘Your country needs you’ image of Lord Kitchener. Though many posters encouraged the men of Britain to enlist, the image of Kitchener himself has come to stand for Kitchener’s call for men to fight for King and country, a campaign that saw men respond in their thousands.
It is to this instantly recognisable image that the experienced artist John Bergdahl turned to create his stirring reverse design. The Outbreak 2014 UK £2 Silver Proof Coin is presented in a Royal Mint display case with a Certificate of Authenticity and a fascinating booklet that explores the story behind the design and the country at the outbreak of war. Whether you wish to honour someone in your family who played their part, or pay your respects as the nation remembers, you will want to secure one of these £2 coins – produced by The Royal Mint, as were the medals presented to those who fought so long ago.
Your coin’s edge inscription reads, ‘The lamps are going out all over Europe,’ recalling the words of Foreign Secretary Sir Edward Grey on the eve of war. Although no veteran who lived through the First World War is here today to receive the thanks of a grateful nation, a full century Britain remembers and marks this important anniversary.
This evocative commemorative coin was designed by John Bergdahl, creator of the coins struck to celebrate the christening of His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge. For the designer, Kitchener’s image perfectly reflected the sense of optimism that was shared in those first days of war, an optimism that today can also be viewed with sadness. It is a moving reminder of those young men who answered Kitchener’s call to arms.

Gustav Klimt did not just paint women, he revolutionised the world’s image of them. The third coin in our incomparable Klimt and his Women series, Judith II, in which the saviour of the Israelites is portrayed as a chilling femme fatale, shows this to magnificent effect. Coin issued on the occasion of Valentine's Day.
Painted in 1909, the life-size portrait shows a gaunt and bushy-haired Judith looking to her right as she clutches the severed head of Holoferenes, an Assyrian general who was threatening to destroy her home city of Bethulia. Klimt’s customary swirling art nouveau ornamentation features on this side of the coin as well as on its obverse, which is graced with Nuda Veritasfrom Klimt’s golden phase. Painted in 1889, the long-haired beauty holding a mirror shows artistic truth without compromise and is a perfect example of Klimt's artistic vision. This was a vision that led the painter to co-found the Vienna Secession, the artistic movement that rejected the conservatism of the early 20th-century Viennese art world.
Struck in Proof quality with a maximum mintage of 30,000, each coin comes in a case complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity. A superb wooden presentation case is also available for those keen to complete the entire five-coin Klimt and his Women collection.

Royal Canadian Mint introduced a new silver coin "Tiktaalik" in the Prehistoric Creatures series.
In 2004, researchers working in Nunavut uncovered the fossilized remains of a mysterious prehistoric creature to bridge the evolutionary gap between water and land.
Tiktaalik lived roughly 375 million years ago. It had the gills, scales and fins of a fish, but the head of an amphibian: flat with both eyes on top, and spiracles that suggest the presence of rudimentary lungs. What's more, Tiktaalik had extra-thick ribs, another adaptation for animals that don't float in water and need extra support against gravity while on land. It also had wrist and finger-like bone structures inside its fins — precursors to actual limbs.
Special features:
• This distinctive cupronickel coin is the fourth in our series of coloured Prehistoric Creatures coins featuring photo-luminescent (glow-in-the-dark technologies) elements.
• For best effect, place the coin in sunlight, fluorescent, or incandescent light for 30-60 seconds, then bring the coin into the dark to reveal the glowing skeleton of the dinosaur!
• Photo-luminescent effect will not wear.

The Royal Australian Mint issued a new 1 Dollar coin to commemorate the centenary of ANZAC. The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) was a WW I army corps that operated during the Battle of Gallopoli. It was led by General William Birdwood.
The Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of ANZAC, Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, The Hon. Steven Ciobo MP, today unveiled a new $1 circulating 2014 coin featuring the Centenary of Anzac logo and produced by the Royal Australian Mint.
The special commemorative 2014 $1 circulating coin features the official logo of the Anzac Centenary, including the image of an Australian soldier, head bowed and rifle reversed in solemn reflection and the words ‘100 Years of Anzac - The Spirit Lives.’ The coin is rimmed with a motif reflecting the sun’s rays as captured on the Australian Army’s Rising Sun badge.
Senator Ronaldson said the Anzac Centenary would be one of the most important commemorations in Australia’s history and it was fitting that the Royal Australian Mint had created this coin.
“The Centenary of Anzac will be one of the most defining moments in our nations’ story and the creation of a coin is a permanent way to reflect on and remember this commemorative period,” Senator Ronaldson said.
“I am delighted that the Mint has chosen to feature the Centenary of Anzac logo on the 2014 circulating coin.”
Mr Ciobo said introducing this coin into circulation would mean that for many years to come these coins would pass through the hands of thousands of Australians.
“Every time someone looks at this coin it will remind them of the service and sacrifice of our past and present Australian Defence Force members. In particular, of those who died in the First World War,” Mr Ciobo said.
Students from St Andrew’s Primary School in Werribee attended the launch and were presented with coins by the Minister and Parliamentary Secretary.
Royal Australian Mint CEO, Ross MacDiarmid, said the Mint had a proud tradition of commemorating Australian military history with the production of a coin and the 2014 $1 ‘100 Years of Anzac - The Spirit Lives’ circulating coin would add to that.
“The Anzac Spirit has long been invoked as part of the essence of what it is to be Australian. The Anzac Centenary reminds us all that it is a living spirit and this coin captures aspects of that spirit in a permanent form,” Mr MacDiarmid said.
As Australia’s official coin producer, the Royal Australian Mint has developed a comprehensive coin program to be released over the coming Centenary period, marking significant events and dates from 1914-1918. The 2014 $1 Century of Service circulating coin will be a reminder for all Australians of the courage and selflessness of those who’ve served in Australia’s Defence Force for many years to come.
