Pursuant to the provisions of Law 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, the National Bank of Romania will issue for collectors and put into circulation, on 28 April 2014, two coins: a gold coin for collectors and a brass commemorative coin for being put into circulation, both dedicated to the 650^thanniversary of the beginning of the reign of Vladislav I Vlaicu.

Obverse: the face value “50 BANI”, “ROMANIA” inscribed in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2014” and in the background a composition representing St. Nicholas Princely Church in Curtea de Argeş.

Reverse: the portrait of Prince Vladislav I Vlaicu, the obverse and the reverse of a ducat that he issued, the inscriptions “VLADISLAV I VLAICU” and “1364”, the year of his ascent to the throne of Wallachia, in an arc.
