On 25 December 2013, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation two coins "1120 the city of Uzhgorod", which continues the series "Ancient cities of Ukraine".

Uzhhorod is a city located in western Ukraine, at the border with Slovakia and near the border with Hungary. It is the administrative center of the Zakarpattia Oblast, as well as the administrative center of the surrounding Uzhhorod Raion within the oblast.
