The “Chinese Calendar” is a series of commemorative coins. Each year the Mint of Poland issues a coin showing one of the 12 symbols of the Chinese Zodiac that is assigned to the following year: Pig, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Dog, Monkey and Rooster.

Below – a transparent capsule containing a silver 24-carat gold plated insert. In the background – a stylized surface emblazoned with decorative motifs. Along the rim – inscriptions: ELIZABETH II, NIUE ISLAND (the issuer), 2 DOLLARS (the face value), 2014 (the year of issue).
