Under the auspices of Clarence House, The Perth Mint is proud to unveil Australia’s official gold commemorative coin in honour of the birth of Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, became proud parents of their second child, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana on 2 May 2015 at St Mary’s Hospital in London, with millions of people sharing in their joy. 

The HRH Princess Charlotte 2015-dated coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/4oz of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2015 year-date and monetary denomination.

The reverse of the coin depicts a sculpted portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge cradling and gazing lovingly at their newborn baby girl, with HRH Prince George by their side. The image is encircled by a sculpted ribbon tied in a bow. The inscription CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF THE ROYAL BABY, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, are also included in the design.

The coin is housed in a prestigious display case within a shipper which features the name and date of birth of the new princess. The accompanying numbered Certificate of Authenticity also highlights these personal details. 

The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,000 of the HRH Princess Charlotte 2015 1/4oz Gold Proof Coin.
