‘In this year did 100 years of military aviation in Portugal are commemorated, the event is being marked by the INCM, Which is minting a commemorative coin created by sculptor José Simão.
The design of this coin recalls the history of military aviation, evoking on its obverse the pioneering days of aviation, with a seaplane flying over the ocean and, on its reverse, on F16 fighter over flying country on a mission: two faces, past and present , connected by the course of aircraft.
Another clean design, although in our view with a concept better than its execution, this one should be quite popular and joins the ranks of coins celebrating military centenaries, unsurprising given we’re also 100 years from the start of the First World War.
