Монетный двор Польши для Острова Ниуэ в июле 2014 года представил монету с изображением яйца «Транссибирская магистраль» из серии «Императорские яйца Фаберже», посвященной известным яйцам, созданным в мастерской русского ювелира Петра Карла Фаберже. Эти маленькие произведения искусства, выполненные по заказу русских царей, спустя 100 лет являются символом экстравагантности и роскоши.
Транссибирская магистраль — ювелирное яйцо с моделью сибирского поезда, одно из 52 императорских пасхальных яиц, изготовленных фирмой Карла Фаберже для русской императорской семьи. Оно было создано в 1900 году для императора Николая II и подарено на Пасху его супруге, императрице Александре Фёдоровне. Сюрпризом в яйце является миниатюрная копия поезда сделана из золота и платины имеет длину 398 мм. У поезда алмазные фары и рубиновые задние фонари. С помощью золотого ключа поезд можно привести в движение. В настоящий момент яйцо находится в музее Оружейной палаты в Москве и остаётся одним из немногих яиц Фаберже, не покидавших пределы России.
На аверсе изображено открытое яйцо «Весенние цветы» с миниатюрой корзинкой, в которой находится букет анемонов. Над ним — портрет Ее Величества Королевы Елизаветы II, а также надпись «ELIZABETH II» и знак монетного двора (m/w). Вокруг головы королевы — декоративный орнамент в стиле неорококо. В верхней части монеты выгравирована надпись «NIUE ISLAND». Слева указан номинал «2 DOLLARS», справа обозначен год выпуска монеты «2014». Внизу указана проба серебра «Ag 925».
На реверсе изображено яйцо «Транссибирская магистраль» с элементами подставки и верхней части, покрытыми 24-каратным золотом. На заднем плане в центральной части монеты – карта России. Вдоль верхнего канта монеты выгравирована надпись «TRANS SIBERIAN». На заднем плане в верхней части монеты расположена декоративная поверхность, стилизованная под занавес в дворцовом стиле. В нижней части монеты в две строки выгравировано название серии монет «Fabergé EGGS». Дизайнер — Бэата Кулэша-Дамазьяк.

The Mint of Poland presents the "Trans-Siberian Railway Egg" coin released in the series "Imperial Fabergé Eggs" commemorating famous eggs made in a workshop of a world-renowned Russian jeweller, Peter Carl Fabergé. This little pieces of art, which were designed to Russian tsars’ orders, have been a symbol of extravagance and splendor for over 100 years.
At the bottom – open „Spring Flowers Egg” (1899-1903) with a miniature basket and a bouquet of anemones. Above the basket – the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with an inscription: ELIZABETH II and the mint mark (m/w). Around – a decorative, neo-rococo ornament. Along the rim – the issuer’s name: NIUE ISLAND, the face value: 2 DOLLARS, the hallmark (Ag 925) and the year of issue 2014.
In the foreground – an image of the Trans-Siberian Railway Egg with 24-carat gold plated elements of its basis and top. Below – an image of a gold train and an inscription: FABERGÉ EGGS. Королевский монетный двор Канады в июне 2014 года выпустил третью монету «Ксеноцератопс» серии «Канадские динозавры».
Ксеноцератопсы — род растительноядных динозавров из семейства цератопсиды. Известные ископаемые образцы возрастом около 78 млн лет обнаружены в канадской провинции Альберта и относятся к верхнему мелу (кампанский век). Описан один вид рода — Xenoceratops foremostensis. Окаменелости черепа были найдены в 1958 году палеонтологической экспедицией Уонна Лэнгстона в 7 км от канадского посёлка Формост. Более 50 лет останки находились в запасниках Канадского музея природы в Оттаве и были тщательно исследованы в 2009 году группой учёных под руководством Майкла Райана. Результаты были опубликованы в журнале «Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences» в 2012 году.

There’s been a small renaissance in coins featuring dinosaurs over the last few years and the Royal Canadian Mint have been a major proponent of that, first with the excellent five-coin antiqued-centred range, and then with the glow-in-the-dark bimetallic coins. Their most recent series called ‘Canadian Dinosaurs’ and struck in uncoloured fine silver, started with the Bathygnathus and followed up with the Scutellosaurus.
This month a third coin appears in this series along with the first in a whole new range called ‘Prehistoric Animals’. This time there are two versions; a one-ounce silver and a 1/10oz gold catering for more price points at $89.95 and $279.95 respectively.
In 2012, a team of Canadian palaeontologists rediscovered a series of fossils collected in 1958 from Alberta’s Foremost Formation, near the village of Foremost. These samples led researchers to identify not only a new species of dinosaur, but the oldest species of its kind yet discovered in Canada. Dr. Ryan and Dr. Evans also collected an additional fragmentary skull of the Xenoceratops from just north of Foremost that confirmed aspects of its reconstruction. Researchers believe this dinosaur was about the size of a rhinoceros and weighed nearly 2 tons!
The reverse image by Canadian artist Julius Csotonyi features an interpretation of how Xenoceratops may have looked. Viewed from the front on its right side, this full-body portrait presents some of Xenoceratops’ most striking features, including its beak-like mouth, vast spiky skull frill, horns, large muscular body, and relatively short legs. It walks on four-clawed feet across a smooth, stony land mass, its small right eye cast upon the viewer. This artist’s depiction presents an interpretation of possible tonal variations on a pebble-textured hide — all rendered in dimensional detail by Royal Canadian Mint engravers using multiple finishes and expert engraving techniques.
The scientific accuracy of the depiction was verified by palaeontologists Dr. Michael Ryan and Dr. David Evans who discovered and described Xenoceratops in 2012.

The second coin in the Royal Canadian Mint’s series of coloured maple leaves.
Canada has had a long relationship with the maple leaf, one that hearkens back to the beginning of the 18th century, when the maple leaf was adopted by French Canadians who dwelled along the St. Lawrence River; it was described by the first mayor of Montreal as “the symbol of the Canadian people”. By the mid-1800s, it came to be included in the Coat of Arms of both Ontario and Quebec, and by 1921, was included in the federal Coat of Arms of Canada. In 1965, Canada’s flag was changed from the Canadian Red Ensign to the maple leaf flag we know and love today. Here we have the second coin in the Royal Canadian Mint’s series of coloured maple leaves.
This year, the Mint presents the green maple leaf, which has historically symbolized Quebec (while a gold maple leaf has symbolized Ontario). Around the vivid green leaf is a series of maple leaf clusters that celebrates Canada’s uniqueness.
The reverse image features the impression of a coloured maple leaf amongst smaller maple leaves.

Аризонский кратер, Каньон Дьявола — большой метеоритный кратер в Аризоне. Возник около 50 тысяч лет назад после падения 50-метрового метеорита, весившего 300 тысяч тонн и летевшего со скоростью 45-60 тысяч км/ч. Взрыв от падения был в три раза мощнее взрыва Тунгусского метеорита и был аналогичен по мощности взрыву 150 миллионов тонн тринитротолуола или 8000 атомных бомб, аналогичных сброшенной на Хиросиму. Внутри и вокруг Аризонского кратера найдены осколки метеоритного никелистого железа, фрагменты которых использованы при изготовлении тиража данной монеты.
Аверс несет портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Яна Бродли (Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS). Вокруг портрета выгравированы надписи «ELIZABETH II», «ONE DOLLAR», «Ag 999», а также обозначен знак Монетного двора Польши. Также указано название страны-эмитента «NIUE ISLAND» и указан год чеканки «2014».
В центре реверса расположен фрагмент знаменитого метеорита. Вокруг вставки с помошью ультравысокого рельефа монеты изображен Аризонский кратер. В верхней части полукругом выгравирована надпись «CANYON DIABLO METEORITE».

The amazing Canyon Diablo meteorite is predestined to be immortalised on this very interesting coin issued by Niue Island with an authentic fragment of meteorite inlaid. It depicts the very famous Meteor Crater created by the meteorite impact about 50,000 years ago in Arizona, USA.
The Canyon Diablo meteorite comprises many fragments of the asteroid that impacted at Barringer Crater (Meteor Crater), Arizona, USA. Meteorites have been found around the crater rim, and are named for nearby Canyon Diablo, which lies about three to four miles west of the crater. The asteroid fell about 50,000 years ago. The meteorites have been known and collected since the mid-19th century and were known and used by pre-historic Native Americans. The Barringer Crater, from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, was the center of a long dispute over the origin of craters that showed little evidence of volcanism. That debate was settled in the 1950s thanks to Eugene Shoemaker's study of the crater. In 1953, Clair Cameron Patterson measured ratios of the lead isotopes in samples of the meteorite. The result permitted a refinement of the estimate of the age of the Earth to 4.550 billion years (± 70 million years).
The reverse is a small replica of the Meteor Crater – a huge hole about three quarters of a mile wide and 600 feet deep. It’s believed to be 20,000 and 40,000 years old. Modern settlers did not discover meteor crater until the 1870s. A piece of the real Canyon Diablo Meteorite is the centerpiece of the reverse making the coin a real treasure for those hunting for meteorites and unique coins. Such pieces are among the most historically significant meteorites available to collectors. By some estimates, the fireball weighed about 50,000 tons!
