The Mint of Poland is jubilant to announce issuing the series "The Most Beautiful Polish Love Stories" dedicated to the most beautiful Polish love stories. The pieces in this collection present the famous couples of lovers whose affection has become the purest example of the perfect love.
The first coin in the series was inspired by the enchanting story of a famous Polish composer, Frederick Chopin, and his greatest Muse, French writer George Sand. The coin combines the unique theme, rich minting tradition and modernity. Its indubitable assets are the highest craftsmanship and precision of decorative techniques – multi-coloured images of the lovers were faithfully recreated with digital printing.
The distinguishing features of the coin are also its rare oval-shaped design, SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS decoration and original presentation case in the shape of a heart, made specifically to house the coins of this extraordinary series.
The obverse shows an image of George Sand’s estate in Nohant. On the left – a profile effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Above – the face value: 1 DOLLAR. At the bottom, along the rim – inscriptions: ELIZABETH II, NIUE ISLAND (the issuer), 2014 (the year of issue), the mint mark: m/w and hallmark: Ag 999.
