On March 5th, 2014, the first collector’s edition Latvian euro coin will be released into circulation. This event is dedicated to the 150th jubilee of Ainaži Naval School.
Festive events will be held in Ainaži Naval School’s museum – in Ainaži, Valdemara Street 47, as reported by the Bank of Latvia.
‘150 years have passed since the foundation of Ainaži Naval School and now citizens of the free Republic of Latvia have been to all seas, have seen the world, joined the EU and Eurozone. Latvia’s first euro coin in the collection of unique editions is dedicated to Ainaži Naval School. It will help sail ships to cross long and hard distances between dreams and reality in all four corners of the world,’ – notes the bank.
The Council of the Bank of Latvia approved the bank’s programme regarding the issue of collector’s edition euro coins for future years. A total of six unique coins will be released into circulation in 2014, including the one dedicated to the 150th jubilee of Ainaži Naval School.
