Each coin features a coloured caricature of a horse and the Chinese character for either ‘Fu, ‘Lu’ and ‘Shou’, meaning ‘Prosperity, ‘Success’ and ‘Longevity’ respectively.

Available individually, the Year of the Horse ‘Prosperity’ coin features a horse trotting and flying a kite marked with the Chinese character ‘Fu’.

Each coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date, and the monetary denomination on the obverse.
