The Mint of Poland is jubilant to announce issuing the coin of the "Man’s Best Friends — Dogs" series to affirm the unbreakable bond between humans and dogs.

Since time immemorial these four-legged friends have accompanied the man faithfully. Dogs’ nature has won the hearts of a wide range of pet enthusiasts for whom this delightful coin collection has been manufactured. 

Obverse: In the central part of the coin – a figure of a dog and an inscription ONE DOLLAR (the face value). In the background – an image symbolizing the friendship between a man and a dog. Along the rim – inscriptions: NIUE ISLAND (the issuer), 2014 (the year of issue), Ag 999 (the hallmark), m/w (the mint mark), ELIZABETH II. At the bottom – a miniature profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Reverse: In the central part of the coin – a multi-coloured image of Yorkshire Terrier. In the background – a relief scene of York and decorative motifs. Along the rim – the name of the breed in English.

Coin "German Shepherd" (January 2014)
