Comments: According to the Krause catalogue (2016 edition) this coin type is reign-dated 1875-1908, but was apparently restruck from previously unused dies during the Republic. Note that in Yeoman's World Coins, 1979 edition, those coins were still considered to belong to the Empire, but further research has shown they need to be considered restrikes.
